Jour 102 – ÉtrangeDay 102 – Strange

etrange
Etrange.

etrange
Strange. I thought weird and I typed strange, weird no? Actually strange is more interesting since it shares the same root with stranger. It comes from the Latin extraneus, meaning outside. Yes, strange comes from elsewhere, like the stranger. He or she may be weird or not, but he or she is different, strange. And this is what makes her/him rich! Richness comes from diversity. Strange becomes then normal. Strange disturbs, like new things. But once integrated, it’s not strange anymore. Like Montaigne wrote: “what’s true on this side of the Pyrénées, isn’t anymore on the other side“. By changing our point of view, we change the strange.
